Access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene is the most basic human need for health and well-being. Demand for water is rising owing to rapid population growth, urbanization and increasing water needs from agriculture, industry, and energy sectors.
The only way children of Africa can escape poverty is through education. Although a child may be born into a poor family, through education that child can acquire new values for life, and rise above that poverty. Education changes the social and cultural status as well as economic status of children.
Although the population of older people in Africa is increasing, and older people are becoming increasingly vulnerable due to urbanisation, breakdown of family structures and rising healthcare costs, most African countries have no social health protection for older people
